Margaret Englisby has been a trial lawyer since 1990. Her practice focuses on family law, criminal law, and traffic defense litigation.

Margaret received her Bachelor of Science degree, magna cum laude from Virginia Commonwealth University, and while pursuing her law degree from the University of Richmond, T.C. Williams School of Law she completed a study abroad at Cambridge University, England. She was awarded winner of the Client Counseling Competition in law school, and was a finalist in the Moot Court Competition, and on the Moot Court Board her first year in law school and continued on the Board until her graduation from law school.

Margaret has litigated complex equitable distribution cases. She has served as lead counsel in capital murder cases and has tried numerous murder and other felony, misdemeanor and traffic cases. Margaret also has acted in numerous cases as a guardian ad litem for children and adults advocating for her clients. She is in Court everyday, and has an active appellate practice. Margaret also has had over sixty (60) hours of mediation training through Commonwealth Mediation Group of Richmond, Virginia.

Margaret Englisby is qualified to practice in all Virginia Courts, and in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, The United States Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. She is also qualified and has filed proceedings in the Supreme Court of the United States.
